Good to know

Museums are closed on Mondays, and the Matenadaran is also closed on Sundays: choose a day from Tuesday to Saturday.

  • Bring cash in Armenian drams for tickets, lunch and village markets: cards are not accepted everywhere.
  • Monasteries are active churches: shoulders covered and quiet voices are appreciated.
  • Wear comfortable shoes and take a warm layer: many sites are in the mountains and windy.

Questions about this trip

How much does the Yerevan, Erebuni, Tsitsernakaberd & Matenadaran trip cost?

AMD 19,500 per car in a sedan for 1–4 travellers with up to 3 suitcases (up to 2 when there are four); otherwise, AMD 27,000 in a minivan for groups of up to 7. It is the price for the whole car, not per person, and it includes fuel, parking, hotel pickup and drop-off and bottled water.

How long does it take and when do we start?

Plan about 6 hours with all stops (34 km in total). You choose the pickup time when booking; many travellers start between 8:00 and 10:00.

Will the driver tell us about the history of the sites?

The driver helps with practical tips — where to stop, where to eat, how long to stay. Under Armenian tourism law, a guided tour with historical commentary is the job of a licensed guide: add one when booking for AMD 25,000.

Can we change the stops or stay longer?

Small changes on the way are fine. Only waiting beyond the planned time or an unplanned detour can cost extra, and the price is agreed with you first.

Can we do Yerevan, Erebuni, Tsitsernakaberd & Matenadaran in one day from Yerevan?

Yes — it is a round trip from Yerevan within one day: about 6 hours door to door, 34 km of driving, with the stops included. For long routes we suggest an early pickup; you choose the time when booking, and the driver brings you back to your hotel the same evening.

In what order do we visit the stops?

The route goes: Yerevan highlights drive → Erebuni Fortress and Museum → Tsitsernakaberd Memorial → Armenian Genocide Museum → Matenadaran. The driver keeps this order unless the light, the weather or the crowds make another order better for you — say so, and small changes on the way are fine.

Does this trip run all year?

Museums are closed on Mondays, and the Matenadaran is also closed on Sundays: choose a day from Tuesday to Saturday.

What if I need to cancel?

Cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before pickup. Later than that, you can move the trip to another date once, free of charge. We do not take deposits.
